Projects I’ve designed & shipped.

A padel player reaching for the ball

A platform for discovering padel venues and exploring their courts.

The problem
Players need to piece together venue and court details before deciding where to play.
The solution
Designed and built a responsive platform that brings venue and court details together in one place.

An app that identifies birds from photos or calls and saves discoveries in a personal collection.

The problem
Identifying a bird can be a one-off answer rather than a reason to keep exploring.
The solution
Connected photo and call identification to a personal collection that grows with each discovery.

How I can help.

From understanding your users to designing, building and improving your product, I can take on the whole journey or help with the part you need.

UX training withNielsen Norman Group

Nielsen Norman Group is an internationally recognized authority in user experience. Its research and practical methods inform how I design websites and apps.

  1. Understand your users.

Find out what people need, where they struggle, and which problems are worth solving.

    • User interviews
    • Usability testing
    • Surveys
    • Design thinking workshops
  2. Design the experience.

Turn those insights into clear user journeys and polished interfaces that make your product easy to use.

    • UI/UX design
    • User flows & prototypes
  3. Build it. Ship it.

Bring the design into a working product, with the same attention to detail from the first interaction to launch.

    • Responsive web apps
    • Native iOS & Android apps
  4. Measure and improve.

After launch, see how people use your product, track its performance and find out what to improve next.

    • Analytics setup
    • Performance tracking
    • User feedback

Good work starts with good collaboration.

“Steffen understood our idea and guided us from the first concept through thoughtful, appealing design to development and launch. Having one partner who could connect the whole process made the collaboration clear and straightforward.”

Before we get started.

I need a website or app. Where do we start?

Tell me what you want to achieve, who it is for and what visitors should be able to do. Share an existing site, a few examples, and your budget or deadline if you have them. No finished brief needed. I’ll reply personally within two working days.

Do I need a website, a web app or a native app?

A website is often enough to present your business and generate enquiries. A web app suits tasks such as booking or working with an account in the browser. A native app may make sense for regular use and device features. We choose the simplest option that meets your users’ needs.

What will my website or app cost?

The main factors are the number of pages or screens, custom features, integrations and available content. After discussing your idea, you receive a proposal with scope and fee before work starts. We also identify recurring costs such as hosting, domains, licences or app-store accounts. Scope changes are agreed separately.

How long will it take, and when can you start?

A focused website usually involves less work than an app with accounts, payments and integrations. I’ll confirm availability and a realistic schedule after we discuss the scope. Content, feedback and external approvals affect timing. We agree milestones and account for app-store review when relevant.

How does an idea become a finished website or app?

First we clarify goals, users and the essential features. Then we agree the structure and design before development begins. You review progress at agreed points. Before launch, we test the important user journeys and screen sizes, then publish and hand over. Further improvements can follow after launch.

Do I need to provide texts, images and a finished design?

You do not need a finished design. Bring any existing logo, brand guidelines, texts or photos. Together we identify what is missing and agree who supplies or creates it. Support with content and any image or font licences is scoped before work starts, so it does not become a surprise later.

Can I update the website myself afterwards?

If you want to change texts, images or pages yourself, we plan an editable content system from the start. You receive an introduction to the agreed setup. Features, editable areas, source files, access and usage rights are specified in the proposal and handover. App feature changes usually need development work.

Can you improve or replace my existing website or app?

Yes. Send me the link and describe what is not working for you. I’ll review the existing design, content and technical setup. We can then decide whether focused improvements or a rebuild make more sense, including how to handle existing content, integrations and website addresses.

Who handles launch, hosting and support afterwards?

Launch support can cover domain and hosting setup or app-store submission, depending on the project. We agree which accounts you need, who manages them and which running costs apply. For websites, we discuss search visibility and redirects. Maintenance, updates and further improvements are scoped separately; app-store approval remains with the platform.

Can I also hire you just for design or UX support?

Yes. The main focus is complete websites and apps, but you can also bring me in for UI/UX design, user research, usability testing or a specific development task. I can work with your existing team. We agree a focused goal and the deliverables you need.

Let’s find a way forward together.
